It's probably just me, but I prefer shorter nails over long ones. Lately I've been experiencing some small nail breaks that turned into major cracks which couldn't be fixed anymore, so in my moment of weakness I just grabbed a file and gave my nails a fresh start. They're really short, but that's what I prefer right now. My hands are super small, so my nubs fit them perfectly. And now I can play all the instruments I want and not worry about breaking a nail or two. :)

Short nails are no exception when it comes to nailart. There's still a lot of designs you can do. Today I've decided to do a dotticure combined with Mickey Mouse theme. I tried Essie's 'cute as a button' for the first time and something cute was the right thing to paint on this gorgeous pink-ish shade.

Autumn's here! Not really sure how to feel about it this year since we had a really cold Summer here in Slovenia. We start a new semester on Wednesday and I'm moving back to Ljubljana this week so I'll be able to do nails more often. Ah, the perks of a student life.. :) Me and my best friend are having some big plans for the end of this year and I'm starting to feel I'm finally going to move on with my life after all. 

Today I have an Autumn manicure for you. I did it a while back for a contest and was waiting for the right time to post it. I don't remember which polishes I used, but I remember the procedure. The base is a gradient of two polishes, topped with some loose glitter. The studs were originally golden and I simply painted them with matching polish. The leaves on my ring finger are hand painted with different polishes.

Another new polish in my collection I was eager to try is 'fiji' by Essie. This baby pink shade is really cute and girly. It's opaque in 2 coats. The formula is quite thin so there was some spilling, but it dries quickly and it has a great coverage. It just became one of my favorites. I love pink!

Uh, it's been a while. I'm almost done with my room, so I have some time to do my nails and try some new polishes. I bought four new Essie polishes at DM last week for a special price (2 for 1). I'm loving them more and more, too bad they're quite expensive for a student budget. :(

Yesterday I tried 'lilacism' and I fell in love with the shade. It really suits my skin tone and makes my hands so adorable. You can see a quick swatch here on my IG. I'm sure I'll use it again soon and take better pictures to upload on my blog.

I decided to do a watermarble using a spray (you can use hand sanitizer/body spray ...). I love it how you can play with polishes and the designs using this technique always turn out fabulous.

For my ring finger I decided to do something shiny to go along the metallic polishes on my other fingers. I outlined the nail with a thin brush, then I used a dotting tool to create a flower-ish shape and I filled it with placing drop shaped silver rhinestones.

There was a special sale last week in Slovenian online store Click2Chic, where you could get 5 Models Own polishes for the price of 3. I couldn't miss it! Here are my picks (from left to right):

My dear cousin came by this weekend and she was kind enough to offer her nails as test bunnies for my new GelLack set by Depend. I only bought BASE, TOP and remover, because I already have cleanser, UV lamp and other tools from my set for making gel nails. I don't like the idea of boring nails in one color, so I decided to try making permanent manis using the sandwich method. It turned out quite awesome, we did a houndstooth pattern combined with bright pink.
